    The cottages are fully carpeted with double-glazing for your comfort. All linen, bedding, tea towels and personal towels are provided. There is a colour television, Freeview digital TV, radio, CD player and electric coal-effect fire in all the cottages and they all have their own patio and picnic table.     Situated in the traditional heart of the village of Askrigg, Sykes’s House is thought to have been built around 1687 and can be found opposite the beautiful 15th century church of St Oswald’s. The building has undergone many changes over the years, from being a family home to having once been a Temperance Hotel. Now, it is a thriving village store with a tea room as well as having two large Bed and Breakfast en-suite letting rooms. There is a large secure covered courtyard that can accommodate bicycles and has plenty of room for any maintenance you may need to do. Wet coats can be left here overnight rather than dripping in your room!
