Lucas Lights Review

Next up in our reviews of lights comes the range from a brand many of you may not be too familiar with – Lucas. We have to admit that when questioned about which brands to look out for, Lucas was perhaps not on that list and instead we recited the likes of Exposure, Knog, and Lupine to name a few, but Lucas have been around for long enough to know a thing or two about lighting. 134 years to be exact, and the latest range of lights certainly grabbed our attention when they arrived on the doorstep.

Winter Riding

There are a few things in life you only do once. Sticking your finger in the plug socket, putting your hand down a pool table pocket as far as it will go, snort wasabi, joke with airport security………………..and go on a club run in winter without a properly prepared bike. Specialized S-works road shoe review

sworks 3

Following a couple of years of ‘making do’ but never really getting comfortable in terms of fit, collecting my 2013 Specialized S-Works shoes was met with a sense excitement but also a degree of scepticism. At £260 these are expensive shoes there is no hiding that fact, but Specialized claim them to be pretty much the best shoes on the market as used by many top riders, so if they can be worn day in day out during a grand tour by the worlds best, then perhaps my humble 70 mile club runs won’t cause them too much trouble.

Descending

So with winter and the wetter weather closing in on us all it seems an appropriate time to start refining our technique for descending as it’s one aspect of road cycling that inevitably gets trickier around this time of year.

Summer is over but don’t suffer in silence, it’s time to get cross – Rapha Supercross to be exact. That’s right, cycling’s most stylish clothing brand is once again running the excellently entertaining Supercross series in 2013, and for those of you living in and around North Yorkshire you really don’t want to miss the first round being held at Broughton Hall, Skipton on the 19th Oct.
