Sportives – one to get on your list

With the sportive season officially well under way, like many of you, NYC have been planning which rides we want to do this year and which events will be our targets. Now of course everyone enters sportives with their own agenda, some to race, some to simply enjoy the days riding and any variation of that. Personally I tend to target a time I think will show significant progress but I also like to take in the ride, scenery and experience so don’t want to be literally chewing my stem for 6 hours straight (just the last hour or 2 will do).

REVIEW – Holiday Cottages for cyclists

 

Broughton Hall – Higher Scarcliffe Holiday Cottage

 

So after a little while away from reviews we are back and thought it appropriate to start with something very special.

 

Amidst all the Tour de France hype surrounding our region at the moment it’s no surprise that a lot of businesses in the hospitality industry are really trying to attract the cycling community. This is great for us all and Broughton Hall nr Skipton seems to be leading the way and really embracing the cycling community more than most. Not only do they already host the famous annual Rapha Supercross event, they will also host the 3 day Rapha Tempest festival of cycling in 2014. http://www.raphatempest.cc/

 

As if that wasn’t enough for us all the get excited about, Broughton Hall now have two luxury holiday cottages available to rent and they kindly invited the North Yorkshire Cycling team to spend an entire weekend at their Higher Scarcliffe residence.
