And with two routes to choose from there’s a challenge to suit everyone, from amateur riders looking for their first charity event to more experienced cyclists after a gruelling test of stamina.

The Challenger
Participants taking part in The Challenger will complete a 26-mile circular route through the Dales to the picturesque market town of Pateley Bridge, before returning to Ilkley Cricket Club along the River Wharfe and past the ruined 12th-century Bolton Abbey.

The Gear Grinder
Participants taking on this circular 65-mile route will weave their way through hills and valleys to the historic market town of Masham and back, passing by Leighton and Gouthwaite Reservoirs, the dramatic moorland rock formation of Brimham Rocks and the ruined 12th-century Bolton Abbey.

The entry fee is £20 and includes an event t-shirt, fundraising pack, training guide, en-route refreshments and finisher’s certificate.

Participants will also receive discount prices and automatic entry into competitions run by the event’s Official Partner – JD Cycles and Outdoor – which is kindly providing financial support and on-the-day assistance.

All money raised in sponsorship will go towards funding world-class cancer research, treatment and diagnosis projects throughout Yorkshire.

Please note: The Dales Rider routes are both road-based and we recommend a light weight road bike.
